Sphere of ProjectsDecember 8, 2001World of Sound and ColourHow I Learned to Pronounce Feng ShuiHere are some graphics showing the chi zones. Notice how the staircase is always in my pleasure zone. And thanks to my Mom, I have a little plant in the money zone, which, to tell the truth, has been iffy so far. I'm not losing as much at poker, and I have won some fabulous prizes, but then there is that time share fiasco. First Floor | Second Floor | Basement The Chi Routing TableYou're supposed to use a special compass to get a proper chi (Qi) reading. It's got a compass in the centre, and around the edge are symbols for Yin and Yang, directions, and horoscope animals that all sum up to "good" or "bad" or "needs improvement". And you're supposed to move the compass around and take readings from different angles. Well, it's a lot of work, unless you have three hands or an assistant to take down notes. My solution: the Chi routing table. It works like this. The compass will take the same reading from the same direction no matter where you are standing (barring magnetic interference). To save time, I created a table of angles and the readings for those angles. Now, I don't have to walk around my house with the compass anymore. All I need is a floor plan and the readings for each direction. Here is my routing table. The only thing I haven't added was a default route to send bad Chi into the field across the street, but this is only the beta version of the protocol. Eric's Pa Tzu Compass
